The modelling department serves as the foundation for all new product shape development.
Initially, technical drawings are prepared for any new shape design concepts to define the required dimensions and capacities.
Using traditional lathe or hand-engraving techniques, plaster models are crafted at 13–14% larger than the intended product size to account for the clay shrinkage that occurs during biscuit firing in production. These original models, or masters, are subsequently used to create blocks and cases, typically made from rubber or metal. From these, production moulds are then manufactured.
